A captured North Korean soldier revealed to Ukrainian interrogators that North Korean troops fighting for Russia are experiencing significant casualties. Ukraine recently detained two North Korean soldiers and posted interrogation videos, where one soldier detailed his experiences since joining the conflict on January 3. He spoke about seeing fellow soldiers die, his own wounding, and his subsequent capture. He indicated that he was part of a reconnaissance unit but lacked training in Russian military equipment. He was conscripted into the army at 17 and claimed he was unaware he would be sent to fight in Ukraine. The Russian government has not confirmed the presence of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region.
