Crews from Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) are actively pre-treating and managing highways and bridges. Central Oklahoma is experiencing moderate to severe conditions due to snow and sleet accumulation. Notably, I-44/Turner and Kikapoo are facing significant ice buildup.
ODOT emphasizes that drivers should maintain a safe distance from road-clearing equipment and be cautious of “black ice,” which can be deceptive. They recommend planning ahead and allowing extra travel time.
