In a notable photo taken from behind, the Pope is seen in a wheelchair at the hospital’s 10th-floor chapel, indicating slight improvement in his health. This marks the first image of him since entering Gemeli Hospital.
Expectant crowds, including around 200 children from UNICEF, have gathered at the hospital to show support and share a symbolic embrace with the Pope as they hope to catch a glimpse of him from his hospital window.
While he has not received visitors, the Pope continues to engage in daily activities including prayer and work. His medical team describes his condition as “complex,” and regular health updates are provided to journalists, with the number of accredited media members increased during his hospitalization. In his recent reflections, he has expressed solidarity with other patients experiencing similar challenges.
