Adventureland, the amusement park in Altoona, will soon be owned by Hershend Family Entertainment, following their acquisition of all Palace Entertainment’s US properties from Parques Reunidos. Adventureland was previously part of Palace Entertainment since 2021 and was operated by the Krantz family from 1974. Hershend’s CEO, Andrew Wexler, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with the park’s team, emphasizing the community’s affection for the park. Palace Entertainment currently operates over 20 locations across 10 states and Australia.
In addition to the ownership change, Adventureland will close the adjacent Adventure Land Inn to convert it into employee housing. Furthermore, enhancements are being made within the park, including an immersive experience with laser lights and surround sound in one of the water slides, Typhoon. The park is set to open for the season on May 17th.
