The Palo Alto Student Environment Coalition is organizing its Annual Earth Day Rally on April 18, 2025, in front of City Hall. Student organizer Floyd Neesen highlighted the importance of local legislative efforts amidst a challenging political climate. Speakers, including US Rep. Sam Ricardo and East Palo Alto City Councilman Carlos Romero, addressed environmental justice and encouraged youth engagement in community advocacy.
The rally blended activism and celebration, featuring live music and a positive atmosphere to combat feelings of fear surrounding climate change. Participants were urged to take action and hold polluters accountable, fostering a strong sense of community commitment to climate reform.
