Jack Lasota, a 34-year-old transgender woman and self-identified blogger known as “Ziz,” was arrested along with two other members of a group dubbed the Bay Area “murder cult.” Lasota, who has been linked to a series of killings, was apprehended in Maryland and faces charges for trespassing, obstruction, and possession of a handgun. The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into multiple murders, including the killing of an 82-year-old landlord and a Border Patrol officer.
Lasota had previously been thought dead after a 2022 incident involving a fall into the San Francisco Bay, leading to a published obituary. However, she later resurfaced, allegedly faking her own death. Other arrested members include Michelle Zaico and Daniel Blanc, raising questions about their relationships and shared history, including a link to the unsolved murders of Zaico’s parents in Pennsylvania.
The group’s dynamics remain unclear, but they are reported to share strange beliefs tied to techno-fundamentalism and the rationalist movement. Tensions within the group have previously led to violent confrontations, including a fatal stabbing incident. Despite their mysterious ideology, some connections to various social movements, including veganism and AI culture, have been noted among group members.
