The Cincinnati Bengals have finalized contract extensions for star wide receivers Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Ja’marr Chase’s new deal is a four-year extension worth $161 million, making it one of the richest in NFL history and averaging between $40.2 million and $41 million per season. Tee Higgins’ extension is a four-year deal for $115 million. These contracts solidify the Bengals’ offensive core, including quarterback Joe Burrow, whose annual salary is $55 million.
Chase, 25, had a stellar 2024 season, leading the league in touchdowns (17), receptions (127), and receiving yards (1,708), making him a recipient of the “triple crown” for wide receivers. His performance followed a tumultuous offseason in which he participated in training camp but did not practice, leading to tensions with head coach Zach Taylor. Despite this, he excelled in the following season, including a standout game against the Ravens, where he had 11 catches for 264 yards and three touchdowns.
Tee Higgins, 26, also secured a long-term deal after a challenging negotiation process that included playing under the franchise tag for the previous season. His new contract comes after he earned $21.8 million while on the franchise tag in 2024. Higgins has been with the Bengals since they drafted him in 2020 and has established himself as an elite second option alongside Chase, recording 73 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
